clerk::Then you need a copy of that too.
Me: Why did you not tell me that when i called you on phone?
clerk: you did not ask
Me: You mean I should have asked if I need to get a pan card?
clerk: yes and you need an introducer's signature.
Me: Thanks! (moron)
Next day:
Me: I have everything
Clerk: The introducer's signature is different from the specimen
Me: can i take a look at it?
Clerk: The specimen is horizantal and the one on your application is at a small angle
Me: Common. dont ask me to come again!
Clerk: I wont accept the application
Me:(moron)why do you need an introducer's signature? That was before passports came into existence.
Clerk: Get the introducer here or get it corrected
The day after the next day
Me: I think the application is ready and I want online bank account also. I filled up the form asking for that
clerk: come tomorrow and collect the passbook. You have to apply for it separately after you get your
passbook.
Me: What is the point of having those extra columns asking if i want an online account?
Clerk: we wont process it that way
The day after that
Me: I called on phone and you said the passbook is ready and I can collect it
clerk: Ya take it.
Me: The atm card and the application for the online account
clerk: Take the application for the online account and collect the atm card tomorrow
Me: why dint you tell me that if I came tomorrow I could get both passbook and atm card when I called an
hour ago?
Clerk: you dint ask
They should change the name of Canara bank to Moron bank It will at least keep the customers informed that
they are dealing with morons. I love SBI in iit madras. They are really good with their work and they handle 10 times more customers.

ReplyDeleteNice post I had an equally bad experience with SBI in IITM, It wasn't so much with bank matters, but I had gone there to get a friend's address changed on his passbook. The lady there literally ate my brains out :)

ReplyDeletebanks can be very irritating.. the govt. ones' don't do any service at all.. the private do over service and over charge u..
